Enrichment Classes
Kids in the Kitchen (Mondays) This class will be inspired by popular children's books. The books will encourage discussion and activities that include recipes, fun healthy foods, and food categories. The young chefs will experience how preparing snacks can build their confidence and their love for a variety of foods. Calling all future Iron Chefs to join this class! Little Scientist (Tuesdays) In this class, children will learn about the world around them through science. Your children will participate in a variety of science experiments and use some of the key components of the scientific method (observe, predict, and analyze). Also included will be a variety of activities that promote scientific knowledge as well as scientific exploration in a variety of forms. Young Einsteins come be a part of this class. Inspiring Young Artists (Wednesdays) This class is designed to bring out the artist in children through drawing, painting, sculpture, and the use of mixed media. Your child will be exposed to art in its many different forms. The use of different mediums which may include tempera paint, watercolors, chalk, colored pencils, and markers as a way to express one's inner artist will be explored. Your child will use a variety of different implements and materials to create 2D and 3D masterpieces. Vincent van Gogh holds nothing over on our young artists! Spanish For Little Learners (Thursdays) In this class children will be exposed to the Spanish language through verbal repetition, games, activities, and crafts. There will be many focuses throughout the year that include greetings, colors, numbers, animals, holidays, and the world around us. Come join this class and get a jump on learning Español. Let's Get Moving (Fridays) This class will include a variety of gross motor activities that the children will be exposed to and practice through games. The use of music and a variety of equipment will make the day fun for all. Skills such as locomotor movements, body awareness, spatial awareness, balance, and ball skills including rolling, throwing, catching, bouncing, and kicking, will be taught and practiced while using good sportsmanship and having lots of FUN.
